Special Dishes

Mas Bangla - £9.95
The Bay of Bengal provides a rich harvest of seafood which, supplemented with the fruits of numerous inland lakes and rivers, has endowed Bengali chefs with a specialist flair for fish dishes. Mas Bangla features Scottish salmon as a substitute for rohi, Bengals most popular freshwater fish. The salmon fillet is marinated in lime juice, turmeric, green chilli and other spices then fried quickly in mustard oil with garlic, onion, tomato and aubergine.

Balaka Special Biriyani - £13.95
A central Asian speciality consisting of specially treated rice-cooked in mustard oil with almonds, pistachio, and coconut and rose water-with chicken, beef, prawns and mushrooms, topped with omelette. Served with a mixed vegetable bhaji.

Famous Indian curries

These dishes require little introduction. They represent staple, traditional fare of Britains Indian Restaurants and are sufficiently well known to merit inclusion in the recipe ranges of important prepared food manufacturers such as Marks and Spencer! Most incorporate varying proportions of basic curry ingredients such as onion, ginger, garlic, chilli and coriander with ground spices of cumin, pepper, fennel, cinnamon, mustard and cardoman.

Creamy, mild and enriched with powdered almond and coconut.
